

A true memoir should probably be written when I’m 90. My memoir was a work in progress from my teen years. Tell me about your memoir, Between Two Worlds. To be able to alleviate that, even if it’s just a little, is my biggest goal. Grief, as hard as it is, is an insight into something we all will experience. I hope by watching the show, people resonate with the fact that we all share the human experience. What do you hope audiences take away from the show? Your show, Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, is a runaway success. The journey from a skeptic to believer, the affirmation that we never truly say goodbye. Seeing the transformation a person goes through when they walk through the door versus when they leave after a reading.

What is the most rewarding part of the work that you do? My job is 24/7, and with that comes a greater need to both appease the intuitive messages while simultaneously having personal boundaries. Most people’s jobs are an activity that they start in the morning and end at night. What is the biggest challenge for you about being a clairvoyant medium? La Toya left the experience with an awareness that Michael’s being was still very much connected to both her and his family. Much of the deeper details of what was said in the reading never aired on television, but it was an incredibly validating experience for both of us. Connecting with Michael was a surreal experience, and because he’s arguably the most famous person on the planet, I had to bring forward information no one knew publicly. Reading La Toya Jackson was a really profound experience for me. Is there one reading in particular that stands out to you? You’ve done readings for a slew of celebrities. As I got older, that didn’t stop me from sharing my intuitive feelings with them.

Beyond that initial experience, school was difficult - coming from a small town with no one to relate to, I felt misunderstood by kids at school. We received the news of her death shortly after I told my mom. In April of 2006, I woke up one night with a knowingness that my grandmother would soon pass away. My first incidence of connecting with the other side happened completely spontaneously when I was 10 years old. When did you first realize you had psychic abilities? What was it like for you growing up? We caught up with the 23-year-old psychic superstar to discuss success, skeptics and “the other side.” The tour stops at Talking Stick Resort on Friday, March 27. This spring, Henry will be embarking on a 36-city tour with his new live show, An Evening of Hope, Healing and Closure, in which he will do live readings with the audience and candidly communicate how his gift affects his everyday life. In 2016, he penned a memoir called Between Two Worlds: Lessons from the Other Side. Henry grew up in Hanford, a small, rural city in California, and recalls realizing his gift at the ripe age of 10.
